So you and your kids like french fries!! Well! it is not feasible to catch fries every time in McDonalds. So, here I am going to share with you a simple homemade french fries recipe so that you can grab them whenever you like.
Step1: Cut the potatoes
Firstly, you will need two potatoes: peeled or peeled it totally depends on you. Cut each potato into two long halves. Lay down the flat cut side on cutting board and cut into 1/2 – 1/4 inch slices. Repeat the process with remaining potatoes.
Step2: Soak the Potatoes
Now put the potatoes into cold water in a large bowl and soak for a least 20 minutes to get rid of excess of starch so that fries turns out to be crispy afterwards.
Step3: Dry the Slices
After 20 minutes, drain the potatoes and dry them with paper towel entirely.
Step4: Fry
Add cooking oil in a large pan and heat it. Now, fry the potato slices at fairly low temperature upto 5 minutes and take care of their pale color.
Step5: Drain and Cool Fries
Take out the fries in frying basket and drain them on a cooling rack or with paper towels. You can keep these fries to serve a day later also
Step6: Fry until fries turn golden
Heat the oil upto the range and test it by putting one half fried slice in it. If the oil sizzles and deep fry the slice actively then you are ready for this step. Add the fries in batches if needed and cook them until they turn golden or brown.
Step7: Dry the fries again
Now lift out the fries again with frying basket and drain them on paper towels or cooling rack again.
Step8: Ready to Serve
Put the fries into bowl first then sprinkle some sea salt or chat masala to add the tangy taste and have fun!!
